How to get started

  1. If you don't have access yet, simply get in touch with our team and they will provide you with a user ID and password.
  2. Head over to Google Play or the App Store and download the app.
  3. Log in using your user ID and password.
  4. You’re ready to start using the Heartland Mobile App!

Common questions

Payments to other banks made before 7pm Monday to Friday are processed that night, otherwise the next business night.

Payments and transfers between Heartland accounts are processed immediately.
If your accounts are set up so that someone else needs to authorise your payment, you will not be able to finalise the payment in the app. Instead, you will get a message noting that the payment request will need to be authorised by the other authorised user/signatory in internet banking.
If you’ve previously used internet banking, your user ID and password will also work on the Heartland Mobile App. If don’t have a user ID and password yet, get in touch with our team. Once you have logged in, head to ‘My settings’ to make logging in easier and faster next time. You can set up log in preferences such as PIN login, Face ID or Touch ID. Your options may be different depending on your device.
Please send us a secure message through the app or call us on 0800 85 20 20 (8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday).
If you’ve set up your security questions on the mobile app, click on ‘forgot PIN’ or ‘forgot password’ in your app log in screen. This will prompt you to enter your security questions and unlock your app. If you haven’t set your questions up yet, get in touch between 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday on 0800 85 20 20. We’ll ask a few questions to confirm your identity then reset your password.

If you haven’t set up your security questions yet, when you’re back in the app click on the menu button on the top left. In the menu you will see ‘Security questions’. Click on this and enter the answers to your questions.

There are a number of measures in place to help keep your account and data secure.

  • Sensitive data travelling across the internet between your device and our systems is encrypted
  • We will lock your account automatically if the incorrect password is entered too many times
  • The app will time-out if it is left running with no activity
  • We use multiple layers of gateways and firewalls to align with industry best practice
  • We conduct security assessments of our app and supporting infrastructure to ensure that potential vulnerabilities are identified and addressed. These assessments are carried out by a third party that specialises in information security
