Veronica Franklin, Corporate Finance Analyst
“Heartland’s culture is one that includes supporting and developing our people, doing right by our customers and working together to achieve goals – being in such a positive and engaging work environment is definitely something that I’m proud to be a part of.”
Veronica Franklin Corporate Finance Analyst
Shreyansh Patni, Integration Developer
“Heartland offers challenging and meaningful work and a diverse culture with an emphasis on health and wellbeing, family and the environment. I like the way Heartland values and rewards its people and provides guidance and support for training and development.”
Shreyansh Patni Integration Developer
Paul Laxton Koraua, Junior Treasury Analyst
“The people are welcoming and the work is challenging but we all put our noses down to get some good work done. Even though we have around 500 people, you really get to know your colleagues and feel a part of the wider team.”
Paul Laxton Koraua Junior Treasury Analyst

Manawa Ako

Manawa Ako is Heartland’s internship programme which was developed to provide opportunities for the next generation of Māori and Pasifika to experience working in the financial sector and a corporate environment. Since its inception, 78 interns have come through our doors. Rangatahi are placed in almost all business units and a tuakana (buddy) is assigned to each intern, along with a work plan that keeps them engaged in the business for the duration of the internship. Many of our interns have continued on in full-time or part-time employment at Heartland.

Graduate recruitment

We recruit graduates throughout the year in full-time permanent roles. We take this approach so that our graduates can hit the ground running and start making a real contribution from day one. Instead of a formal graduate recruitment programme with short-term rotations, we’ll start you off in a real job and work with you to develop and grow your career at Heartland.
