Find your community
To start accessing your local community information you need to find your community home page. You can search for your community in two ways. You can:
- click your region on one of the two island maps on the right. Then select your community from the larger regional map that appears.
- type the name of your community in the Find Community search box.
Once you have found your community, you can make it easier to find next time by making it your Home Page or by adding it to your Favourites. Instructions on how to make it your Home page are at the top of your community page.
Become a member
Becoming a member of Heartland is easy and has heaps of benefits. As a member you can:
- add an item on the Buy, Sell, I Just Want It Gone! noticeboard
- promote an event
- advertise for a job
- put a notice on the Announcements, Requests and Notices noticeboard
- advertise a property or item of machinery for sale
- receive email alerts about power cuts
- receive email alerts when local businesses and goups update their webpages
- enter our competitions
To become a Heartland member and join your community you just need a valid email address. Just click the Join Heartland link in the menubar and complete your details on the form that appears. You will then be sent a username and password by email.
Find a local business, group or club
Heartland has three directories for your local community – businesses, community groups and clubs. These are further categorised (eg. Builders, plumbers, rugby clubs etc) to allow you find the listing you want quickly and easily.
Once you are on your local community’s webpage you can access the listings in two ways. You can:
- see all categories available by clicking the relevant directory (Business, Clubs, Groups) on the menubar on the left of the page
- go directly to the relevant category by using the three category droplists at the top of the page.
